A few months ago, a rep from Domaine Drouhin Oregon led a side-by-side tasting of the Pinot Noir and Chardonnay bottlings from Drouhin Oregon, and the latest Willamette acquisition by the family, Roserock. The Roserock winery is located in the Eola-Amity Hills AVA, and the wines poured from Roserock were already beautiful. For me, they were able to match the Drouhin wines with each new flight. A personal favorite from the tasting lineup was the Chardonnay. I recently revisited the Chardonnay and again found it to be quite impressive.
The minerality jumped from the glass, starting with the nose. Beautiful notes of white flowers, lemon and some honey were also present. The palate followed the nose with the saline qualities, great acid, and a finish that lingered. This was complex, but not heavy, and demonstrated great balance. Highly Recommend as this is an excellent QPR Oregon Chardonnay.
